WHAT EXACTLY IS FORTNITE? A GUIDE FOR BEGINNERS
Fortnite is a place where you can have a variety of different experiences. Drop into the Island and compete to see who can be the last person — or team — standing. See a concert or a movie with your parents. Make your own world with your own set of rules. Alternatively, you can save the world by teaming up with others to take out armies of monsters.
GAME MODES IN FORTNITE
Fortnite has four main game modes, each of which caters to a different type of player. Battle Royale, Party Royale Poker, Creative, and Save the World are the four game modes.
ROYAL Fight
Fortnite Battle Royale is free to download and play on consoles, PC, and handheld devices. Take the Fight Bus to the Island below and compete to be the last person standing. Alternatively, form a team of mates or other players to outlast the competition. Use the strength of wood, stone, and metal to build structures to aid you.
In Fortnite Battle Royale, there’s always something new to look forward to, such as new objects, guns, cars, submodes, special events, and “Seasons.” Each new Season introduces a new theme to the Island, such as the previous secret agent takeover and massive flood.
ROYALE PARTY
Inside Battle Royale, there is a mode called Party Royale. Party Royale is an experimental and emerging space that focuses on no sweat, all chill fun rather than combat and Dota. Aerial obstacle courses, boat races, movies, and even live concerts by top musicians are among the attractions.
Party Royale is also free, much like the rest of Battle Royale’s modes.
INNOVATIVE
Fortnite is a free game that comes with Battle Royale. Create your own games and rules… and invite your mates! Creative puts you in charge of your own Island. Creative provides you with the tools to build both simple and complex games, so make whatever you want. And when you’re not creating, play games created by your friends or other Fortnite players.
Aside from making and playing games, Creative is a fantastic place to simply create your own scenery. Make your island look the way you want it to and have fun with your mates!
SAVE THE PLANET
Explore a massive, destructible universe as you and other players work together to fend off hordes of monsters in Fortnite Save the World. Gain strength in your battle against these monsters, known as Husks, by collecting loot, forging weapons, and expanding your Heroes list. To hold the Husks at bay, build a base and fortify it with traps!
Play Save the World with your mates or other Fortnite players. Save the World can be accessed by buying a Save the World Pack, which can be found on our website, inside Fortnite, CSGO Bet or on the storefront of your console. Save the World is a video game that can be played on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
CROSSPLAY WITH THE FORTNITE COMMUNITY’S MILLIONS OF PLAYERS
Millions of people play Fortnite around the world, meaning that you’ll always find someone to play with, whether you’re outlasting them in Battle Royale, trying out new games with them in Creative, or bringing down Husks together in Save the World.
Fortnite has crossplay, which means that players from different platforms can play together!
WHAT PLATFORMS ARE FORTNITE AVAILABLE ON?
Fortnite Battle Royale, as well as the Party Royale and Creative modes, are currently available for download on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and the Epic Games App on Android (fortnite.com/Android or the Samsung Galaxy Store). On PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, Save the World mode is currently open.
Fortnite on iOS, Mac, and Google Play is already at version 13.40, and new players can’t download it on iOS. On Mac, Save the World is no longer playable. If you want to play the most recent Fortnite updates, you can do so on any of the platforms mentioned above.
WHO ARE THE FORTNITE PARTICIPANTS?
Fortnite players come from all over the world, representing a diverse variety of countries, age groups, and other demographics. The Fortnite group is incredibly diverse!

WHEN IT COMES TO FORTNITE, WHAT Do PARENTS KNOW?
Parental controls, such as options for contact, privacy, and playtime monitoring, are available to help you handle your family member’s Fortnite experience. You can also set up parental controls for in-game purchases on your family member’s gaming site and/or epicgames.com. Learn more in our guide to parental controls.
