It looks really nice, but how about cunstomizing this forum style instead, or install a new style for WBB 1.2?
Mind you, if we switch to phpBB we will lose all the currently installed mods (review, news mod). Althouhg if you do want to go ahead and do it, then I'm sure we'll find similar mods for phpBB.
It's your call ultimately, but I wouldn't do it.
If you take a looksee at http://ezmodelling.gamehorizons.net/forum you can see how I easily changed the look of the forum by editing the colors in the template, adding a new background image and changed the color of the gradient image found in forum/styles/images/ ! I beleive we can do something similar here.

Even with changing to a new template, we will lose all the little hacks and tweaks that have been done. Attachments, Quick Reply, the Arcade, and alot more that I don't even remember, would have to be redone on the new templates.
Changing the color theme and graphics are a piece of cake, though.

No. phpBB has next to nothing for features or mods. It doesn't even support Subforums
