Problem #2 : Alpha blending issues
Take a look at the trees. Around the edges, instead of decent alpha blending, you can see the sky. This obviously isn't correct. Any ideas?

Replying to problem #2. Alpha blending is exactly like that in the PS2 version. I doubt there will be any way to fix that.

Not sure it can be fixed, no.. I noticed in the mall, some of the guns hanging on the back wall of Ammu-Nation have this weird effect going on too. I think it's just how the rendering engine works.

Do people not listen? On forum after forum I see the guy who posted the pic at the top whining on about this grafix problem and people keep saying that it is his sh***y GeForceFX card that is the problem! I myself have replied a couple of times...some people say it is the games fault...bull****! That is classic overheating!
GEFORCEFX CARDS SUCK! Nvidia decided to use technology it aquired when it took over 3DFX...instead they have made this beast of a card with so many problems that ATI must be pissing itself!

how the f**k so!
my card doesn't overheat!
it doesn't get near it even, and to prove its not that you can quicky fix the problem for a small amount of time by simply hitting esc, then donig it again to go back into game, and everything its fine, but i guess your card has time to cool down some in a 3 second period, since its so damn hot and overheating from playing vice city, psh please

like I said above, overheating isn't the problem here,my card doesn't overhear,it has a temp. display in video prop. and its nowhere near overheating,so no,i'm not getting a damn radeon,i hate them and always with from my time stuck with one.

Stop arguing. Yes Reverend, I have a Geforce 3 Ti200 and the game works perfectly with it. The only time I experience slowdown is when I crash into the water.

A helpful dude e-mailed me this morning with this, I've yet to try it but..
it is now known how to fix this nasty graphic error for the GeForce FX
series video cards, this is what you do!
1) Right Click on your desktop
2) Click Properties
3) Go to the Settings Tab
4) Click the Advanced Button
5) Then Click the GeForce FX (X) Tab - (X meaning the type of card you
have)
6) When the little slide panel pops out click on Peformance and Quality
7) Look at Intellisample, It's the top option
Change the slider from QUALITY left to APPLICATION
And you are done. intellisampling forces a kind of texture rate. when
the
option is turned on quality geforce will do its own work to mess with
the
texture rate. when you switch it to application, your applications or
in
this case GTA Vice City will do what it was made to.
Hope this works..!
